"[Name]?" you heard Ivan call.
You looked up from whatever you were doing, to look at him. "Yeah?"
"Are you going to keep this, or can I throw it on the trash bag?" he asked, holding up an old, broken garden gnome. Since when you've had that thing, you had no idea.
You and your friends Ivan, Alfred, Arthur, Francis and Yao were on your garden, throwing away stuff you didn't need anymore.
"Throw it away!" you answered, pointing at the big, black trash bag that Yao was holding.
"Why am I the one who has to hold the trash bag for, again? It stinks, aru! Literally!" the Chinese man whined.
"Please, Yao, just hold it!" you begged, putting on your best puppy face. After Yao stared at it for a couple seconds, he sighed in defeat, looking away. You cheered inwardly.
A few minutes passed by, while the others ask you about which things you wanted to keep or throw away.
"Hey guys, I'm hungry! Can we take a break now and eat something?" Alfred exclaimed. As if on a cue, you heard a loud grumbling coming from his stomach.
"Ah! Sure, I guess…" You said, shrugging. "I'll get some snacks in the kitchen and –"
"Non!" Francis exclaimed, almost panicking. "Ah... We, uh, need you out 'ere so zhat we know exactly what we can throw away and not!" he continued, looking a little nervous.
You stared at him, suspicious. Francis was up to something, you knew that much.
"Wasn't this a break? You can stop sorting the stuff out now…" You said, raising your eyebrow.
"Ah, well, um, it's just zhat… Uh…" he nudged Alfred with his elbow.
"Ah! The more we work the sooner we can finish this! Yeah, that's it!" Alfred said, a little too quickly.
You eyed the two blondes, even more suspicious than before. Since when were they able to cooperate about something? Of course, it didn't compare to the… Rivalry, Francis shared with Arthur, but still, that didn't mean that Francis could get along greatly with Alfred.
"Oui~! Why can't Arthur go and make some snacks?" the Frenchman suggested.
You stared at him incredulously. Had he really just suggested that Arthur, Arthur of all people, would go and prepare some food?
"Are you serious?" you asked. "I mean, you always say you would never eat something Arthur prepared!" you quickly added, blushing slightly when you saw the odd look Arthur gave you.
"Oui, I'm very serious!" Francis assured, smiling.
You figured that you might as well wait and see what he was planning. It couldn't be that bad, could it? "Alright then" you shrugged. "Arthur, you know where I have the Oreos and cupcakes, right?"
The Englishman nodded, and began walking towards your house. You watched him with a light blush covering your cheeks, until he entered and closed the door.
"Soooooo~… You like Artie, huh?" Alfred stated, more than asked, grinning like an idiot.
"I do not!" you whisper-yell (no way in hell you would risk Arthur hearing you), your face suddenly heating up considerably.
"Onhonhonhon~, don't even try to 'ide it, mon amie~" Francis laughed. "It is obvious zhat you 'old… Certain feelings, for Arthur~"
You shook your head furiously, the blush spreading from your face to your ears and neck. You looked away from the two blondes, in a (failed) attempt to hide your embarrassment. Your gaze landed on Yao and Ivan, who were both looking at you strangely. Ivan had, as always, that childish and kinda creepy smile on his face, while Yao had a small smirk plastered on his own face. It was obvious, though, that neither of them planned on getting involved in Francis' and Alfred's plan, or whatever they were trying to do.
"C'mon, [Name]! Admit it! You are in love with Ar-" Alfred started, but was interrupted rather quickly by you clamping a hand over his mouth.
"Shut up! I don't like him like that!" you tried, but the look in both Alfred's and Francis' faces told you they didn't buy it.
"Yes you do~" Francis sung.
"ARGH! ALRIGHT! I LIKE ARTHUR! HAPPY, NOW?!" you yelled, extremely irritated.
"Oui~!" Francis laughed, pointing behind you.
You froze. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit! You thought as you turned around, very, very slowly.
Just as you suspected, the object of your affection was only a few feet behind you, staring at you with wide eyes and a small blush covering his cheeks.
If your face had been hot before, it was definitely on fire now.
Neither of you said anything for a few moments, before you turned around, prepared to murder Francis and Alfred, only to find that neither of them were there anymore. Yao and Ivan had also disappeared.
"[N-Name]?" you heard Arthur call in a soft voice.
You didn't move. You were far too busy blushing your face off.
A hand gently touched your shoulder, startling you so much you jumped about an inch above the ground.
You spun around, eyes wide and opened your mouth to say something, but quickly shut it again. "I… Uh… I…"
"Is that true, [Name]?" Arthur asked, tilting his head slightly to the left. How can he look so good without even trying? You wondered.
"Ah! W-Well…" you stammered, looking everywhere but him. Finally, you hung your head down, desperately trying to conceal your red cheeks. "Yes." You whispered.
A few moments went by and none of you said anything. You secretly braced yourself for rejection, knowing that there was no way he'd feel the same. But, to your surprise, he did not say the expected 'Sorry, but…'
"I'm glad…" Arthur said instead. Your head snapped up, and you stared at him with your eyes wide. There was a deep blush covering his cheeks, and his gaze was soft and loving. You searched his eyes for any traces that he was lying, but only found sincerity.
Your heart nearly stopped when he leaned down and gently brushed his lips against yours. After one of two seconds of shock, your eyes fluttered shut and you kissed him back, softly.
Arthur pulled away after a few moments, only to whisper:
"I love you, [Name]"
Never had you felt so happy in your whole life.
"I love you too, Arthur." You mumble, and lean up to kiss him once again.
'-,-'-,-'-,-' Extended Ending '-,-'-,-'-,-'
"Onhonhonhon~, what did I tell you? I said zhey were going to kiss, didn't I?" Francis said, smirking.
Cleverly enough (he thought), Francis had dragged Alfred, Ivan and Yao out of the scene and behind some large bushes. Far and hidden enough not to be seen, but close enough to hear and see everything that was happening between [Name] and Arthur.
"How did you know that was going to happen, aru?" Yao asked in amazement as he watched [Name] and Arthur kissing.
"Yeah, dude, it's like you have a sixth sense for things like this!" Alfred exclaimed, almost too loud.
The Frenchman only shrugged, with a confident grin plastered on his face.
"What can I say? I am from zhe country of love, after all~"
